Flute Light

Flute was designed by Tom Newhouse to be flexible, versatile, compatible, economical. And with its LED technology, 85% recyclability, 24-year life span, and cost of about $1.13 to use it for a whole year, Flute leaves a minuscule carbon footprint on the earth. Weighing in at just two pounds, this task light, part of The Be Collection, also leaves a small footprint on your desk. And it’s home-grown: made in the USA.

Flute saves you money in all kinds of ways. It uses the latest in LED technology to provide high-quality light output while consuming 30-50+% less energy than traditional task lights, generating 31 lumens per watt of energy consumed.

Flute’s LED chips require no bulb replacement or service over the estimated 24-year life span with average use. So you also save big on small maintenance costs.

Earth-Friendly

Flute lights the way toward a cleaner earth in every way—from manufacture to shipping to use to recycling. Flute is made of 36% recycled material. At the end of its useful life, you can disassemble Flute easily and recycle 85% of it.

Flute reduces energy consumption by 40 to 50%, compared to traditional bulbs, and emits no carbon dioxide, mercury, or sulfur, as traditional light bulbs do. Developed in accordance with Herman Miller’s Design for the Environment (DfE) protocol, Flute contributes to LEED points.
